Established in 2003, the Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) is the leading media development institute in Sri Lanka. Working alongside its operational arm, the Sri Lanka College of Journalism (SLCJ), its Advocacy and Free Media Division, and partner bodies like the Press Complaints Commission of Sri Lanka (PCCSL), the Institute is dedicated to championing press freedom and freedom of expression, advancing media literacy, and upholding professional media standards.
